Faysal Bank Corporate & Investment Banking

What FBL's Corporate & Investment Banking Group (CIBG) actually covers, from trade finance to IPO underwriting.

  • Project & Structured Finance
  • Equity & Advisory / IPOs
  • Trade Finance & Guarantees

Faysal Bank's Corporate & Investment Banking Group covers trade finance, guarantees, cash management, and full investment banking including IPO underwriting.

  • Investment Banking: Project & Structured Finance, DCM, Equity & Advisory
  • Trade finance uses Currency Salam and Waad as Shariah-compliant FX alternatives
  • Issues Bid Bonds, Performance and Financial Guarantees
  • Faysal@Work handles corporate payroll and employee banking

Faysal Bank's Corporate & Investment Banking Group (CIBG) is the wholesale side of the bank — financing, trade, and advisory services for large corporate clients rather than the retail and SME products covered elsewhere on this site. It runs on the same Shariah-compliant footing as the rest of the bank; every facility below is structured on an Islamic mode of financing.

What Does Faysal Bank's Investment Banking Desk Do?

FBL's Investment Banking desk works in close coordination with Corporate and Retail Banking and covers three main lines:

Project & Structured Finance

Advisory and debt arrangement for long-term greenfield and brownfield projects on a non-recourse or limited-recourse basis, across sectors of national and strategic significance.

Syndications & Debt Capital Markets

Medium to long-term financing for capital expenditure, capacity expansion, and mergers & acquisitions, plus credit risk distribution with other financial institutions through syndicated arrangements.

Equity & Advisory

Sell-side and buy-side M&A advisory, business valuations, access to equity capital markets, and underwriting for IPOs and rights issues — FBL has also acted as Bankers to the Issue (BTI) on multiple transactions.

Trade Financing

Faysal Bank provides all types of funded and non-funded trade finance — opening of Letters of Credit, advising, confirmation, documentary collection, and bank guarantees — for both import and export. On the export side, this includes Currency Salam (an alternative to conventional bill discounting) and Waad (an alternative to forward booking) to help exporters manage cash flow and hedge FX risk within Shariah principles. On the guarantee side, FBL issues Bid Bonds, Performance Guarantees, Advance Payment Guarantees, Shipping Guarantees, and Financial Guarantees to both local and foreign beneficiaries.

Corporate & Fleet Financing

Financing options for corporate clients include working capital facilities, term loans, and financing under SBP refinance schemes such as the Islamic Long Term Financing Facility (ILTFF) for imported and locally manufactured plant and machinery. A dedicated Fleet Financing line covers vehicle financing for corporate fleets on the same Diminishing Musharakah structure used in Faysal Islamic Car Finance.

Cash Management & Transaction Banking

FBL's Transaction Banking suite covers payments and collections for corporates, commercial, and SME clients: RAAST and RTGS transfers, Inter Bank Funds Transfer (IBFT), utility bill payment processing, e-dividend payouts, and collection mechanisms including over-the-counter collections through branches, cash/cheque pick-up, and digital e-collections with automated reconciliation. A separate Faysal@Work proposition covers employee banking and payroll disbursement for corporate clients.

Financial Institutions Desk

A dedicated Financial Institutions team manages FBL's relationships with other banks and DFIs, both domestic and international, supporting the correspondent banking and cross-border settlement infrastructure that underpins the trade and treasury business.
