Ownership: Who Owns BankIslami?

Jahangir Siddiqui & Company Limited founded BankIslami in 2004 together with the Randeree family, with Dubai Bank joining as a founding sponsor shareholder in 2005. JS Bank Limited raised its stake to 75.12% in August 2023, becoming BankIslami's majority shareholder and bringing it into the JS Group, the financial conglomerate that also runs JS Bank's conventional business, JS Investments, and other financial services entities.

BankIslami and JS Bank remain separately licensed, separately branded banks under SBP regulation — BankIslami has not been merged into JS Bank's conventional operations. Individual investor Ali Hussain holds a further 10.58% stake as at December 31, 2025, with the remainder held by insurance companies, mutual funds, and the general public on the PSX. Hussain resigned as a Non-Executive Director in June 2025 but remains a major shareholder in his individual capacity.

Ownership structure confirmed from BankIslami's Annual Report 2025 "Pattern of Shareholding" disclosure (as at December 31, 2025) and PSX shareholding disclosures.
