BankIslami International Remittances

How to receive a foreign remittance at any BankIslami branch without an account, and how existing account holders send and receive money internationally by wire transfer.

  • No Account Needed for Pickup
  • Free to Receive

BankIslami handles international remittances two distinct ways: walk-in cash pickup for anyone receiving money from abroad, account or no account, and formal inward/outward wire transfers for existing account holders and businesses. This page covers both, and how they differ from the dedicated Sohni Dharti account for overseas Pakistanis.

Receiving Cash: Home Remittance

Home Remittance is BankIslami's cash-pickup service for money sent from abroad through its Shariah-compliant remittance partners — IME, MoneyGram, Ria, and Instant Cash. You don't need a BankIslami account to collect the money: any valid CNIC, NICOP, or passport is enough at the counter, and receiving is free of charge with no hidden fees, per BankIslami's own published FAQ.

StepWhat To Do
1Get the reference/pin-code from your sender (11 digits for IME and Ria, 8 digits for MoneyGram)
2Visit any BankIslami branch with your original CNIC, NICOP, or passport
3Complete BankIslami's Home Remittance Receive form and show your ID to collect the cash

Wire Transfers: Foreign Inward & Outward Remittance

For existing account holders, BankIslami's Centralized Foreign Remittance Unit handles Foreign Inward Remittance (FTT-Wire Transfer) directly into an account, and Foreign Outward Remittance for sending money abroad. Inward funds can be received in a foreign-currency (FCY) account or converted into a PKR account. To receive an inward wire, the sender needs your full account name, your IBAN and account type, your address and payment purpose, and BankIslami's SWIFT code (BKIPPKKA) along with correspondent bank details where applicable.

BankIslami also runs a dedicated Remittance Facilitation Desk specifically for IT & ITeS exporters, freelancers, and other corporate clients receiving foreign payments, with eligible transactions processed through SBP's online RAS (Remittance Approval System) Portal.

How This Differs From Sohni Dharti

Home Remittance and wire transfers above are transaction services — available to anyone, account holder or not. Sohni Dharti is a different thing entirely: a dedicated bank account product built specifically for overseas Pakistanis, comparable in purpose to a Roshan Digital Account. If you're an overseas Pakistani looking to open an account rather than just receive a one-off transfer, see the Sohni Dharti page instead.
