BOK Fempower Account

  • Women-Only Eligibility
  • Conventional & Islamic Versions

The BOK Fempower Account — branded "Apna Account Apna Ikhtiyar" — is Bank of Khyber's dedicated account for women, built around SBP's financial-inclusion push to bring more of Pakistan's under-banked female population into formal banking. It comes in two structurally different versions: a conventional Fempower Account and a Raast Fempower Account under BOK's Islamic banking arm. This page covers both, sourced directly from BOK's official product pages.

Conventional vs. Raast Fempower Account

Both versions share the same core eligibility and Rs 100 initial deposit, but the underlying structure and the extra benefits differ. The conventional version is a straightforward interest-bearing account; the Raast version is built on Mudarabah (profit-and-loss sharing) and carries a distinct set of added-value benefits BOK doesn't offer on the conventional side.

Where a row says "not specified," that's not an oversight — BOK's own conventional Fempower page simply doesn't publish that detail the way the Raast version's page does. Ask a branch officer directly for the conventional account's full feature list if the Islamic version's structure doesn't suit you.

Eligibility

Open to individual females with a valid CNIC. For a joint account, the primary account holder must be female — a male co-holder is permitted, but the account is structured around the female primary holder. Withholding tax and Zakat apply per prevailing Pakistani law, same as any other savings-linked account.

The Concessional Financing Rate, Explained

The 1% rate discount on the Raast Fempower Account applies specifically to BOK's own consumer financing products — car, home, and personal finance — and only at the point you actually apply for one of those facilities as a Fempower accountholder. It isn't an automatic discount on the account itself; you still need to separately qualify under BOK's standard consumer-financing criteria and SBP's prudential regulations. Confirm the current applicable rate and how the 1% discount is calculated with a BOK financing officer before assuming a specific number.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who can open a BOK Fempower Account?

Individual females with a valid CNIC. For a joint account, the primary account holder must be female.

Is there an Islamic version of the Fempower Account?

Yes. BOK runs both a conventional Fempower Account and a Raast Fempower Account under its Islamic banking arm, structured on Mudarabah rather than conventional interest.

What financing benefit comes with a Raast Fempower Account?

A 1% lower concessional profit rate than BOK's applicable rate at the time, on the bank's own car, home, or personal financing products, subject to meeting BOK's and SBP's standard consumer financing criteria.

If you're already planning to apply for a BOK car or home loan and you're eligible for a Fempower account, opening the Fempower account first is worth doing before the financing application — the concessional rate is tied to being a Fempower accountholder at the time you apply, not something added retroactively.
