H1 2026 Results: Profit After Tax Falls 56% to Rs 1.47 Billion as Q2 Weakens Further

Bank of Khyber's Board approved half-year results for the six months ended June 30, 2026, reporting profit after tax of Rs 1.47 billion (EPS Rs 1.27), down 56% from Rs 3.37 billion in H1 2025. The decline was concentrated in Q2: standalone Q2 2026 profit after tax fell to just Rs 453 million (EPS Rs 0.39), down about 74% year-on-year and weaker than Q1 2026. BOK's Directors' Review attributed the fall to market interest rate movements reducing net interest income and gains on securities, plus non-markup expenses up 13% on higher business activity. On the balance sheet, total assets grew to Rs 597.4 billion (from Rs 453.3 billion at end-2025) on strong deposit growth to Rs 486.7 billion, while the Capital Adequacy Ratio eased to 15.46% from 20.15%, still above the regulatory minimum. The filing also disclosed BOK now operates 256 branches including 212 dedicated Islamic banking branches, up from 254 (199 Islamic) at end-2025. See our Financial Results page for the full breakdown.

Three Independent Directors Call for Forensic Audit Over Alleged Rs 40 Billion Irregularities

Three independent directors of Bank of Khyber submitted a written complaint to the Board Chairman alleging financial and governance irregularities in loan approvals, procurement, marketing spending, recruitment, and strategic agreements, and calling for an independent forensic audit. The complaint reportedly alleges that loans and contracts worth around Rs 40 billion were approved in violation of BOK's internal policies and SBP regulations, and requests protection for officers including the Chief Risk Officer, Chief Compliance Officer, and Head of Internal Audit, who are said to have been sidelined after raising concerns. The complaint also reportedly questions a procurement decision by the bank's Treasurer allegedly favoring a vendor whose software he had personally developed. Important context: these are allegations from a confidential internal complaint, not findings of a completed investigation. They have not been independently verified, and at the time this was reported, BOK's management had not issued a public response. One figure in early reporting — a Mastercard-related obligation in the billions of US dollars — appears disproportionate to BOK's actual balance sheet size and hasn't been corroborated elsewhere, so we're not repeating it here. Check BOK's official channels and PSX filings directly for any update, since this is an active, unresolved situation.
