Rates on this page change with BOK's filing schedule — this page is checked and refreshed quarterly. Next scheduled review: December 2026.

Bank of Khyber profit rates cover both conventional PLS-based returns and Islamic Raast Mudarabah payouts, and both move with the State Bank of Pakistan's policy rate over time. Rather than the usual vague pointer to "check with the bank," this page publishes BOK's actual, dated pool profit rates from its most recent quarterly disclosure — with a clear "as of" date, since these figures are reviewed and can change quarterly.

BOK Islamic Pool Profit Rates — Q1 2026 (as of March 31, 2026)

These are BOK's own disclosed figures for its Raast deposit pools, covering the quarter ended March 31, 2026. "Profit rate earned" is what BOK's underlying investment pool generated; "distributed to depositors" is the average rate actually paid out to remunerative deposit holders after BOK's Mudarib (manager) fee is deducted.

PoolProfit Earned (Pool Average)Distributed to Depositors (Average)Mudarib Share
General Pool — PKR7.90%1.39%48%
General Pool — USD0.62%0.19%77%
Special Pool — Saving & TDRs10.63%1.84%27.84%
IERS Pool9.63%Nil (to depositors)72.82%

The gap between "profit earned" and "distributed to depositors" on the General Pool (7.90% earned vs. 1.39% distributed) looks large at first glance, but it reflects how Mudarabah pool accounting works: the Mudarib share is deducted before the remainder is split by weightage across depositor categories and account types, and a large share of the pool consists of low-cost current-account balances that dilute the average payout shown for remunerative depositors. Don't read the "profit earned" column as your expected personal return — the "distributed to depositors" column is the more realistic reference point for a standard PKR savings or Sahulat-type account.

Figures confirmed directly from BOK's condensed interim financial statements for the quarter ended March 31, 2026 (note on "Details regarding pools managed by the Bank"), filed with the Pakistan Stock Exchange. These are quarter-specific and will change with BOK's next filing — treat this table as dated, not evergreen, and cross-check against BOK's own Islamic Profit Rates page for anything more recent. How BOK Profit Rates Work

Conventional PLS Rate

A profit-and-loss-sharing rate on conventional savings accounts, typically reviewed and paid out half-yearly.

Islamic Mudarabah Payout

Raast Islamic deposit accounts share actual profit from BOK's Shariah-compliant investment pool, which varies period to period — see the table above for the latest disclosed figures.

Term Deposit Rates

Fixed for the full tenure once a Bemisal or Khyber Friendly Scheme certificate is opened, unlike a savings account rate that can move.

Comparing Conventional and Islamic Payouts

A conventional PLS rate is usually quoted as a fixed or capped percentage set in advance by the bank. A Raast Mudarabah payout, by contrast, depends on the actual profit generated by BOK's underlying Islamic investment pool for that period, as the table above shows — it can come in higher or lower than a comparable conventional rate depending on how that pool performed, and BOK's Shariah Board reviews the calculation methodology to ensure it's applied correctly. Neither structure is inherently "better"; they reflect different risk-sharing philosophies, which is part of why Islamic banking exists as a distinct category and not just conventional banking with different branding.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is BOK's current PLS Saving Account profit rate?

10.00% p.a., effective May 1, 2026, per BOK's official revised PLS deposit profit rate schedule. This rate is reviewed periodically and can change.

Are BOK Profit Rates the same across all accounts?

No. BOK Profit Rates differ between conventional PLS savings, Islamic Mudarabah-based Raast accounts, and fixed-tenure term deposits, each structured and reviewed differently.

Why don't BOK Profit Rates stay fixed?

Conventional PLS and Islamic Mudarabah payouts are reviewed periodically and generally track the direction of the State Bank of Pakistan's policy rate over time.

Reviewing BOK Profit Rates against at least one other bank's published rates before committing to a term deposit is a reasonable habit, since even a small percentage-point difference compounds meaningfully over a multi-year, fixed-tenure certificate.

It's also worth remembering that profit paid on savings accounts is generally subject to withholding tax under Pakistani tax law, with the exact rate depending on whether you're a filer or non-filer with the Federal Board of Revenue — a difference that meaningfully affects your actual take-home profit either way.
