Sindh Bank Agricultural Loans
Crop production credit, tractor financing, dairy and poultry working capital, and the Benazir Zarai Khushhali crop-input program — with real rates, limits, and eligibility.
- Crop Financing
- Dairy & Poultry
- Landlady-Eligible
Sindh Bank's agriculture credit policy centers on supporting small farmers with working capital and asset financing — covering crop production, forestry, horticulture, fish farming, dairy farming, poultry farming, and agriculture value-chain lending, along with export of agricultural goods and any other purpose SBP declares eligible. Rather than one generic "farm loan," the bank runs several distinct schemes, each suited to a different need.
- Core Scheme
- Benazir Revolving Credit
- Tractor Financing
- Up to 75% of price, 5 years
- Zarai Khushhali Markup
- 6M KIBOR + 3.5% p.a.
- Crop Risk Coverage
- Crop Loan Insurance Scheme
Benazir Revolving Credit Scheme (BRCS)
Designed for the working capital needs of crop farming — sowing, producing, growing, harvesting, and marketing crops, vegetables, and fruits, including input costs. Credit is extended on a revolving basis, automatically renewed each year once SBP's clean-up conditions are met.
| Detail | Terms |
|---|---|
| Purpose | Working capital requirements of farm |
| Extent of limit | As per indicative rates |
| Tenure | Three years |
| Markup repayment frequency | Half-yearly (April 30 & October 31) |
| Clean-up | Annual |
Two features worth knowing before applying: documentation is one-time for the full three years rather than annual paperwork, and markup is charged only on the amount actually utilized (outstanding debit balance), not the full sanctioned limit. A landlady can also access this facility by applying jointly with her husband or a blood relation — brother or father — as co-applicant.
Sindh Abadgar Tractor Scheme
Financing for small farmers to purchase a tractor for land development and cultivation.
| Detail | Terms |
|---|---|
| Purpose | Purchase of tractor |
| Extent of limit | Up to 75% of actual price |
| Tenure | Up to 5 years, not exceeding the asset's useful life |
| Installment frequency | Half-yearly |
Dairy Farming Loans
Sindh Bank splits dairy financing into two distinct products depending on whether the need is operating expenses or asset purchase:
| Product | Covers | Limit | Tenure |
|---|---|---|---|
| Working Capital Loan | Fodder & feed, vaccinations & medication, labor/fuel/electricity overheads, milk processing and transport costs | Max Rs. 36,000/cattle, up to Rs. 10 Million per borrower | 3 years (revolving), monthly/quarterly markup, annual clean-up |
| Development Loan | Purchase of milk-yielding or young animals, chilling tanks and containers, feed grinders, sheds, water tanks, tube-wells and generators | Up to Rs. 10 Million per borrower | 1–5 years, monthly/quarterly installments |
Poultry Farming — Working Capital Loan
For running poultry farms, hatcheries, and feed mills — covering eggs/day-old chicks, feed and feed raw material, vaccination and medication, and overhead expenses like labor, utility bills, and transport.
| Detail | Terms |
|---|---|
| Maximum loan amount | Rs. 10 Million per borrower |
| Tenure | Three years, revolving |
| Markup repayment frequency | Quarterly |
| Clean-up | Annual |
Benazir Zarai Khushhali Program
A short-term production loan for crop inputs — seeds, pesticides, fertilizers — targeted at cultivators of rice, wheat, cotton, and sugarcane, run under SBP's General Refinance (GRFN) framework.
| Feature | Detail |
|---|---|
| Nature of facility | Short-term running finance — up to 12 months for rice, wheat & cotton; up to 18 months for sugarcane |
| Cash withdrawal split | Up to 10% for transportation charges, 90% for Agri inputs (seed, fertilizer, pesticide) via approved retail merchants |
| Markup rate | 6-Month KIBOR + 3.5% p.a. |
| Financing limit | Max Rs. 5 Million, or SBP's per-acre indicative rate — Rice Rs. 95,000, Wheat Rs. 100,000, Cotton Rs. 102,000, Sugarcane Rs. 142,000 per acre — whichever is lower |
| Repayment | Bullet payment at maturity; early repayment allowed with no pre-payment penalty |
| Crop risk coverage | Crop Loan Insurance Scheme (CLIS) |
| Security/documents | Personal guarantee, additional guarantee from a well-reputed local personality or government employee, promissory note, 2 post-dated cheques, Khasra Form (crop confirmation from Revenue Official) |
| Land verification | Farm visit by bank officials with photographs; no financing for barren or kacha land |
This program also has a built-in crop-sale mechanism: a bilateral agreement is executed between the applicant and the rice mill, cotton ginning factory, or sugar mill to buy back the crop, with payment to agri retailers/distributors made via pay order.

Before Applying
Eligibility and documentation differ meaningfully between these schemes, so the right one depends on what you actually need financed — working capital for an existing operation, an asset purchase like a tractor or dairy shed, or crop-input costs ahead of a specific harvest. Application fees follow the bank's official Schedule of Charges. For the Zarai Khushhali Program specifically, a clean eCIB record is mandatory and the debt-burden ratio is capped at 50%, so it's worth checking your credit standing before applying rather than after.
