Habib Metro SME & Agriculture Banking

Business financing limits, Agriculture Financing categories, SME vehicle loans, and the government schemes HabibMetro participates in.

  • SE: up to Rs 25M
  • ME: up to Rs 200M
  • Agri, Vehicle & Machinery Finance

HabibMetro splits its business lending into two clear buckets on the SME side: standard SME financing (working capital, trade-based, and structured loans) and Agriculture Financing (a separate track for farm and livestock-related credit). Both sit alongside a dedicated SME Vehicle Finance product with its own fee schedule. None of this shows up on the retail-facing pages of most bank comparison sites — here's what's actually on offer.

What Counts as an SME

HabibMetro follows the standard SBP classification. A Small Enterprise (SE) can access up to Rs. 25 million in financing from a single bank or DFI — or across all banks/DFIs combined. A Medium Enterprise (ME), typically not a public limited company, can access up to Rs. 200 million on the same basis. Sole proprietors, partnerships, and other legal entities can all apply, subject to HabibMetro's own credit evaluation.

SME thresholds confirmed from HabibMetro's official "About SME Banking" page, habibmetro.com/sme/about-sme-banking.

What SME Financing Actually Covers

Beyond general working capital, HabibMetro finances the purchase of new imported or local plant and machinery, Balancing, Modernization & Replacement (BMR) of existing units, and setting up new SME units entirely. It also covers import or local purchase of generators up to 500 KVA capacity — capped at whichever is lower, the unit's actual in-house energy requirement or 500 KVA. Collateral requirements vary by product; HabibMetro doesn't publish a single fixed list, so expect this to be assessed case by case.

SME Vehicle Finance

This is a distinct, business-purpose vehicle loan — not the retail Auto Finance product covered on our car loan page. The fee structure, per HabibMetro's official Schedule of Charges:

ChargeAmount
Processing FeeRs. 11,000 + FED (non-refundable)
Late PaymentRs. 900
Cheque/Cash Pick-Up FeeRs. 900

SME Vehicle Finance fees confirmed from HabibMetro's official Schedule of Charges, 1 July–31 December 2026.

Agriculture Financing

HabibMetro's Agriculture Financing splits into a handful of specific-purpose categories rather than one generic "farm loan":

Machinery & Equipment

Tractors, threshers, and similar agricultural machinery and equipment.

Livestock

Feed, vaccination, medicine, raw material, raising charges, animal shed construction, and fencing.

Poultry

Eggs, birds, poultry feed and medicine, composite feed production, processing, farm construction, and equipment.

Fisheries

Fish feed, medicines, and other related activities.

Eligibility is broad by design: owner-farmers, owner-cum-tenants, tenant farmers, and non-farm households (both small and large farms) can all apply, subject to completing the required formalities.

How to Apply

For standard SME and Agri financing, visit a designated HabibMetro or SIRAT branch and fill out an application form — available in both English and Urdu — with a Credit Officer on hand to help. Kamyab Jawan is the one exception: it's strictly online, through the government's own portal, and HabibMetro will contact you afterward for processing rather than accepting a walk-in application for that specific scheme.
