Habib Metro Roshan Digital Account

How HabibMetro’s RDA works for Non-Resident Pakistanis — conventional and Shariah-compliant (SIRAT) versions.

  • SBP Initiative
  • FCVA & NRVA
  • Conventional + SIRAT

Roshan Digital Account is SBP's own initiative, built to let Non-Resident Pakistanis remit and invest into Pakistan without needing to fly back for a signature. HabibMetro runs it two ways — conventional, or Shariah-compliant under SIRAT — opened either as a Foreign Currency Value Account (FCVA) or an NRP Rupee Value Account (NRVA).

Who Can Open a HabibMetro RDA

You qualify as a Non-Resident Pakistani with a valid National ID Card, or as a resident Pakistani who's declared foreign assets in your latest FBR wealth statement — though if you're in that second group, expect to open the FCVA at an RDA-designated branch rather than purely online.

What You Can Invest In

Roshan Apna Ghar / Roshan Apni Car (RDA-Linked Financing)

Once you've got the RDA open, HabibMetro's Roshan-branded home and auto financing is on the table too, with installments debited straight from the account. Loan limits sit between PKR 300,000 and PKR 10,000,000. You'll need at least 15% equity if you're salaried, running a business, or relying on remittance income, and your installment can't exceed 40% of income (salaried/business) or 75% of net income (remittance-based) — lien-based borrowers, securing against their own RDA deposits, don't face a stated cap at all. Co-borrowers can be immediate family — father, mother, spouse, siblings — and for salaried applicants, the loan has to mature by 65 or retirement age, whichever lands first.

Registration and Account Access

One quirk worth knowing: PKR RDA holders get both internet banking and the mobile app, but Foreign Currency RDA holders are limited to internet banking only. And a few things still need a phone call rather than a tap — debit card activation, PIN generation, cheque book activation all route through the 24/7 helpline, not self-service. Day-to-day, you're transacting via ATM, debit card, cheque book, or the web/mobile app, and the Insta app has a "Roshan Samaji Khidmat" feature built specifically for RDA customers.

If Something Goes Wrong: Overseas Pakistani Escalation Channel

If a HabibMetro RDA issue doesn't get resolved through the normal complaint process, overseas Pakistanis have a specific escalation route that most banking guides don't mention: the Grievance Commissioner Cell for Overseas Pakistanis, based in the Federal Ombudsman (Wafaqi Mohtasib) Secretariat in Islamabad. HabibMetro publishes this contact on its own site, separate from the standard Banking Mohtasib process, specifically for issues Non-Resident Pakistanis face with Pakistani institutions. See our Helpline & Complaints guide for the full escalation path.
