Abhi Earned Wage Access (EWA)
How Abhi Microfinance Bank's Earned Wage Access works, what it costs, and how it's different from a personal loan.

Abhi EWA, direct answer: Earned Wage Access (EWA) lets an employee draw part of the salary they've already earned during the current pay cycle, before the official payday, with the amount automatically deducted from the next regular payroll. It only works if your employer has onboarded with Abhi Microfinance Bank — you can't sign up individually the way you'd apply for a loan. Note on naming: the wider Abhi group markets this consumer-facing feature as "Abhi Salary" on its own fintech site (abhi.com.pk) — Abhi Microfinance Bank's own Schedule of Charges uses the generic term "Earned Wage Access" for the same fee tiers. Same service, two labels depending on which Abhi entity's material you're reading.
How It Works
Your employer partners with Abhi Microfinance Bank to enable EWA for its payroll. Once enabled, an eligible employee can request a portion of wages already earned in the current pay period — the app shows how much has accrued so far. The withdrawn amount is deducted from your next scheduled paycheck, so there's no separate repayment to manage. Abhi has described this as the first EWA product built inside a licensed Pakistani bank, rather than through a standalone fintech wrapper, though that framing comes from Bank personnel rather than a formal regulatory designation.
EWA Charges
| Withdrawal Amount | Charge |
|---|---|
| Rs. 500 to Rs. 5,000 | Rs. 150 |
| Rs. 5,001 to Rs. 15,000 | Rs. 250 |
| Rs. 15,001 & above | Rs. 350 |
Want the exact fee and take-home amount for your own withdrawal, plus what a late repayment adds up to day by day? Use our Abhi EWA Cost Calculator.
Miss the repayment window and a late payment charge of 0.1% of the outstanding amount applies per day, starting after a 7-day grace period from the due date — that part is confirmed directly from the Bank's Schedule of Charges. What the Bank's public fee schedule doesn't spell out: whether a missed EWA repayment is reported to eCIB (Pakistan's credit information bureau) the way a missed loan installment would be, whether it affects your eligibility for future EWA withdrawals, or what happens if your next paycheck isn't large enough to cover the outstanding amount plus the accumulating late fee. We couldn't confirm any of that from an official source, so don't assume either a best-case or worst-case answer — ask your HR/payroll contact or the Bank's helpline directly before you're relying on it. What is reasonable to assume, based on how the product works structurally: since EWA repayment happens automatically through payroll deduction rather than a manual payment you could forget, "missing" it in practice would most likely mean your earned wages for that period simply weren't enough to cover what you'd already drawn down — worth keeping in mind before withdrawing close to your full earned amount.
Separately, the Bank also offers an Advance Salary product, priced individually per agreement with the customer rather than on these fixed tiers — that's a distinct product from EWA, even though both get marketed under similar "get paid early" messaging.

Employer Partnerships
Abhi has onboarded several named employer partners for EWA and Advance Salary specifically: PEMRA (April 2026) and a BetaCodes Pak Private Limited partnership announced twice under different campaign names — "BetaCodes" in May 2026 and "Dastak" in June 2026. If your employer isn't one of the Bank's publicly announced partners, that doesn't mean EWA isn't available to you — it just means we can't confirm it from a public source; ask your HR or payroll team directly.
