This page doesn't sell a product — it explains the concepts that come up across Abhi Microfinance Bank's accounts, loans, and digital services, so you can read a fee table or a loan offer and actually understand what it means. For product-specific numbers, each section links to the page with the full, sourced detail.
Understanding Fees
Maintenance fees vs. transaction fees
A maintenance fee is charged just for keeping an account open, regardless of how much you use it — Abhi's is Rs. 150/month plus FED on core deposit accounts, though several customer categories are exempt. A transaction fee, by contrast, only applies when you actually do something: withdraw cash, transfer funds, or use a card. Reading a bank's fee schedule means checking both — an account can look "free" on the surface while still carrying a monthly maintenance charge. Full breakdown on our Profit Rate & Charges page.
Why "up to" charges matter
Fee tables often list a charge as "up to" a certain amount rather than a flat number — this usually means the fee scales with the transaction size or falls into tiers. Always check which tier your specific transaction lands in rather than assuming the headline number applies to you.
Saving Responsibly
A savings account's profit rate is typically quoted as an annual percentage, but profit is usually calculated and credited more frequently — daily or monthly, depending on the account. A higher advertised rate isn't automatically the better deal if it comes with a higher minimum balance requirement or a maintenance fee that eats into what you'd earn on a smaller balance. Compare the full picture — minimum deposit, profit rate, and any fees — not just the headline rate. Abhi's current deposit account comparison is on our Profit Rate & Charges page.
Borrowing Responsibly
Processing fees and early settlement
Most loans carry a one-time processing fee (a percentage of the loan amount, deducted upfront or added to what you owe) separate from the profit rate you'll pay over the loan's life. Before taking a loan, check both the processing fee and the early-settlement terms — many lenders, Abhi included, waive early-settlement charges once you've paid down a set percentage of the approved tenure, which matters if you expect to pay off the loan ahead of schedule.
EWA and Advance Salary aren't the same as a personal loan
Earned Wage Access draws against money you've already earned in the current pay period, not against future income — so it isn't underwritten as credit the way a personal loan is, and it's priced as a flat access fee rather than an interest rate. That said, it's still money you'll have already spent before payday arrives, so treat frequent EWA withdrawals as a signal to review your monthly budget, not as free money. Full detail on our Earned Wage Access page.
Staying Safe With Digital Banking
The single most important rule: no genuine bank employee will ever ask for your PIN, OTP, or full card number over a phone call, SMS, or email — not for "verification," not for "reversing a transaction," not for any reason. If you're contacted by someone claiming to be from Abhi asking for these, that's fraud. Hang up and verify independently through the Bank's official helpline before sharing anything. Full guidance, including how to report fraud, is on our Security & Fraud page.
Know Your Rights as a Customer
If something goes wrong — a disputed transaction, an unexplained fee, poor service — you have a right to raise it and get a response. Abhi's complaint channels and the escalation path if a branch or call-center doesn't resolve your issue are on our Helpline & Complaints page, including confirmed turnaround times for electronic funds transfer disputes.
