K-Electric Partnership — Up to PKR 10,000 Cashback on Electricity Bills
K-Electric partnered with Mashreq Pakistan to offer cashback of PKR 500–10,000 to KE customers who hold a Mashreq Current or Current Profit Account and pay their electricity bills digitally through the Mashreq app. The offer is separate from — and stacks alongside — the standing 10% grocery cashback covered on our Cards & Discounts page, though the account-eligibility restriction (current accounts only, no savings accounts) applies to both.

In a separate, Islamic-banking-specific award from the "Middle East's Best Bank 2026" recognition below, Euromoney named Mashreq Al Islami the World's Best Islamic Digital Bank for 2026, explicitly citing the Pakistan launch as "Pakistan's first fully digital Islamic bank" and pointing to Mashreq NEO BIZ — the SME-focused business banking product covered on our NEO BIZ page — as part of the wider Islamic digital-banking model being extended internationally. Zong Partnership — Telecom Services Embedded in the Mashreq App

CEO Confirms Roadmap: SME Banking Mid-2026, Individual Lending by December 2026
Speaking to Business Recorder, CEO Muhammad Hamayun Sajjad said Mashreq Pakistan aims to begin SME banking from mid-2026 and start lending to individuals by December 2026, with cash-accepting ATMs also in the planning phase. The bank stated an ambition to serve 10 million Pakistanis over five years and described itself as one of the largest single foreign direct investors in the country, having committed over $100 million. As of this page's Last Verified date, our own review of Mashreq's Q1 2026 financial statements (see our Financial Results page) shows the bank was still deposit- and account-opening-focused, with no indication in that filing that individual or SME lending had begun — treat the December 2026 and mid-2026 dates above as the bank's stated plan, not a confirmed launch.

Commercial Launch — Full-Service Digital Retail Bank, in the Presence of PM Shehbaz Sharif
Mashreq Bank Pakistan commenced commercial operations in September 2025, following its SBP Digital Retail Bank license (granted 15 September 2025). The launch event was attended by Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb, and SBP Governor Jameel Ahmad, and marked the first full-scale deployment of Mashreq's digital banking platform outside the UAE. Mashreq stated a committed investment of USD 100 million into its Pakistan operations, including its Global Capability Centre (Mashreq Global Network), which employed 415+ people locally at the time.
