Mashreq has no ATMs of its own — instead, its debit cards work across a shared partner network. This page covers what that actually means for withdrawal access and charges, sourced from Mashreq's official NEO and fraud-awareness pages.

ATM Access and Charges

Mashreq states in its own FAQ that all ATM withdrawals across Pakistan are free of charge, and that its NEO Mastercard and PayPak debit cards give customers access to more than 19,000 ATMs nationwide through partner arrangements. Per Mashreq's official Schedule of Charges (effective 1 July 2026 – 31 December 2026), "free" domestic withdrawals are still charged at the time of the transaction and reversed within one week, rather than never being deducted at all. Two related ATM charges are not waived: a balance inquiry at the ATM and a printed withdrawal receipt each cost PKR 4.67 (inclusive of FED). For withdrawals or POS/currency-conversion transactions outside Pakistan, Mashreq charges 4% of the transaction amount or PKR 200, whichever is higher.

Withdrawal-charge and ATM-count figures confirmed from Mashreq NEO's official FAQ, Cash Deposit & Withdrawal page, and Mashreq's official Schedule of Charges (NEO, conventional, effective 1 Jul–31 Dec 2026).

Debit Card Options

Mashreq NEO issues two debit card types: the Mashreq NEO PayPak Debit Card, built on Pakistan's domestic PayPak scheme, and the Mashreq NEO Mastercard Debit Card, for international acceptance. Mashreq's Pakistan launch announcement described free debit cards as part of the initial offer, but the bank's current official Schedules of Charges list a real issuance, annual, and replacement charge of PKR 2,500 for either card type, across both conventional and Islamic accounts alike — confirm the charge in-app before assuming the card is free.

Confirmed from Mashreq's two current official Schedules of Charges — conventional and Islamic — both effective 1 Jul–31 Dec 2026, which quote the same PKR 2,500 issuance/annual/replacement figure for all account types. (An earlier-dated Islamic SOC version, covering 1 Jan–30 Jun 2026, had quoted PKR 2,000–3,000 tiered by account — that period has since lapsed and the current document supersedes it.)

Mastercard Debit Card Spend & Withdrawal Limits

Mashreq publishes fixed daily limits for the NEO Mastercard Debit Card, covering ATM withdrawals, point-of-sale spending, and e-commerce purchases, split by domestic and international use:

ChannelLimit
ATM cash — localPKR 300,000
ATM cash — internationalPKR 100,000
POS — localPKR 500,000
POS — internationalPKR 100,000
E-commerce — localPKR 500,000
E-commerce — internationalPKR 1,000,000

These are Mashreq's default limits and can be adjusted inside the app (Mashreq Mobile App > More > Manage limits > Cards). The Mastercard variant is accepted at over 124,000 outlets in Pakistan and millions of locations worldwide, per Mashreq's own published figures — a materially wider footprint than the domestic-only PayPak card.

Limits and acceptance figures confirmed from Mashreq's official NEO Mastercard Debit Card page.

Activating Your Card & Resetting Your PIN

A new Mashreq debit card needs to be activated before first use. Mashreq offers two official activation routes: in the Mashreq Mobile App (Account > Card control > Activate card > enter the expiry date > create a PIN > enter the OTP), or by calling 021-111-000-636 from the mobile number registered to your Mashreq account. Resetting your ATM PIN later follows a similar in-app path: Account > Card control > Reset PIN. Changing the mobile number linked to your card is handled separately, through the profile details section of the app.

Activation and PIN-reset steps confirmed from Mashreq's official NEO Mastercard Debit Card FAQ.

If Your Card Is Lost or Stolen

Mashreq's official safety guidance is to block the card immediately through the mobile app rather than waiting to visit a branch — there is no branch to visit in any case. The bank also advises checking that your card is returned to you after every purchase, never writing your PIN on the card or storing it in your wallet, and reporting any unrecognized transaction on your statement immediately through the app or the fraud helpline.
