The Allied Bank Roshan Digital Account is a fully digital account for Non-Resident Pakistanis (NRPs) and foreign nationals of Pakistani origin, opened remotely via rda.abl.com in PKR or foreign currency, and used as the gateway to Allied Bank's home financing, car financing, and investment products for overseas customers.
The Roshan Digital Account exists because Pakistan's central bank launched the nationwide Roshan Digital Account initiative in 2020, letting overseas Pakistanis bank, invest, and finance property back home without ever visiting a branch in person. Allied Bank's implementation covers the full suite: deposit accounts, home and car finance, equity investment, pension, and even a charitable-giving product.
Am I Eligible? & Where Should My Money Sit?
Two quick tools: check your eligibility against the three categories Allied Bank actually accepts, then compare what your USD would earn sitting in the RDA Savings account versus locked into a Naya Pakistan Certificate.
USD Naya Pakistan Certificate rates (6.75% at 3 months rising to 7.75% at 5 years) effective 1 June 2026 per the State Bank of Pakistan's revised NPC rate notification, cross-checked against Business Recorder's coverage and agent-bank disclosures. RDA USD savings rate (~1.75%) per Allied Bank's own Projected Rates of Profit, August 2026. NPC profit is subject to tax at source — confirm your exact rate with Allied Bank based on your filer status, since this isn't a flat figure this calculator can safely assume for you. NPC rates are revised periodically by SBP; verify the current rate at sbp.org.pk before investing.
Who Can Open One
Eligible applicants include Non-Resident Pakistanis holding a valid CNIC or NICOP, Pakistan-origin foreign nationals holding a POC (Pakistan Origin Card), and resident Pakistanis who maintain a foreign currency account abroad. Onboarding is entirely digital through Allied Bank's Roshan Digital Portal.

RDA Account Charges: Almost Everything Is Free
Per Allied Bank's official Schedule of Charges, nearly every routine RDA account service carries no fee at all — a deliberate design choice to make the account genuinely low-friction for customers managing it from abroad:
| RDA Service | Charge |
|---|---|
| Cheque Book (Issuance & Dispatch) | Free |
| Debit Card Issuance / Annual Charges / Renewal / Replacement | Free* |
| Inter Bank Fund Transfer (IBFT) | Free |
| Account Maintenance Charges | Free |
| SMS Alerts | Free |
| Balance Confirmation / Maintenance Certificate | Free |
| Outward Remittances | Free |
| Account Closing Charges | Free |
*The debit card fee waiver has one condition: the average monthly balance requirement that applies to Premium and Infinite Debit Cards for regular accounts (see the Cards & Discounts page) still applies if you choose one of those tiers on your RDA. No minimum balance is required for the RDA itself.
Confirmed from Allied Bank's official Schedule of Charges, Section G(12) "Roshan Digital Account / Simplified-Low Income RDA," effective 01-07-2026 to 31-12-2026.
The Background: What Roshan Digital Account Actually Is
Roshan Digital Account is not an Allied Bank invention — it's a nationwide initiative launched by the State Bank of Pakistan in September 2020, giving every participating Pakistani bank a standardized digital onboarding framework specifically for overseas Pakistanis. What differs bank to bank is the surrounding product ecosystem: how deep the home-finance, car-finance, and investment options run, and how smooth the digital onboarding experience actually is. Allied Bank's implementation covers essentially the full range SBP's scheme allows, from deposit accounts through to pension planning and charitable giving.
Getting Started From Abroad
Because the entire process runs through rda.abl.com, an applicant never needs a Pakistan-based intermediary to open the account itself — though certain follow-on actions, like signing property documents for Roshan Apna Ghar, may require in-person signing either at an Allied Bank branch (if the applicant is temporarily in Pakistan) or in the applicant's country of residence, witnessed appropriately. Reading the specific requirements for whichever RDA product you're using, rather than assuming the base account's fully-remote process extends to every linked product, avoids delays at the financing or investment stage.
Good For
- Overseas Pakistanis opening a bank account without visiting home
