PMYB&ALS — Government Youth Loan Scheme

PMYB&ALS Tier Calculator

This scheme's three tiers aren't a marginal tax bracket — the rate that applies to your entire loan depends on which tier your total amount falls into. Borrowing even Rs. 1 over a tier boundary can add six figures in markup. This calculator shows you exactly where that line is.

Tenure depends on loan type under this scheme: up to 3 years for Tier 1, up to 5 years for Tier 2/3 working-capital loans, or up to 8 years for long-term/development loans (with up to 1 year grace period). Confirm which applies to your case with Sindh Bank.

Rate Data & Sources

The three tiers — Tier 1 (up to Rs. 0.5 million, 0% markup), Tier 2 (above Rs. 0.5 million up to Rs. 1.5 million, 5%), and Tier 3 (above Rs. 1.5 million up to Rs. 7.5 million, 7%) — are set at the government/SBP program level under PMYB&ALS, so they apply identically across all 15 participating banks, not just Sindh Bank. Each tier's rate applies to the full loan amount, not just the portion above the previous threshold — confirmed consistently across multiple participating banks' official program pages.

Tenure varies by loan type and isn't fixed by tier alone: Tier 1 typically allows up to 3 years (1 year for crop loans), while Tier 2/3 allow up to 5 years for working-capital loans or up to 8 years for long-term/development loans, per the program's official terms across participating banks.

Last verified: September 2, 2026. Program terms are government-set but can change — always confirm current details with Sindh Bank or the official PMYB&ALS portal (pmyp.gov.pk) before applying.

For example, borrowing Rs. 1,600,000 instead of Rs. 1,500,000 crosses from Tier 2 (5%) into Tier 3 (7%) on the whole amount — costing roughly Rs. 102,504 more in markup alone over 5 years.
