DIB Raast, IBFT & Money Transfers
Part of PakFinHub's DIB coverage — instant payments, bank transfers, limits, and charges.
- Rs 500,000/day Limit
- Raast + IBFT + RTGS
DIB gives customers three separate ways to move money electronically within Pakistan — Raast, IBFT, and RTGS — plus its own domestic transfer service, FOREE PAISA. They're not interchangeable: each has a different limit, a different charge structure, and a different use case. Here's how DIB's own documentation lays each one out.
Raast
Raast is the State Bank of Pakistan's national instant payment system, and DIB describes it on its own official Raast page as enabling instant digital payments between individuals, businesses, and government entities. Your Raast ID is simply your registered mobile number, linked to your DIB account — it works as a stand-in for sharing your full IBAN or account number with someone sending you money.
| How to Register | What Happens |
|---|---|
| Via DIB Internet/Mobile Banking | Link your registered mobile number to your account, confirm with OTP |
| At a DIB branch | Fill the Raast registration form and a transaction slip; a DIB officer verifies and processes it over the counter |
DIB's Schedule of Charges doesn't list a separate fee for Raast transfers. That's consistent with the State Bank of Pakistan's broader push to keep person-to-person Raast payments free or near-zero-cost industry-wide — but since we haven't found a DIB-specific "Raast is free" statement in writing, confirm current terms on your DIB app before assuming it costs nothing in every scenario.

IBFT (Inter-Bank Funds Transfer)
IBFT moves money to an account at a different bank using the recipient's account number or IBAN, rather than a Raast ID. It's the older, more familiar transfer method and runs through 1LINK's interbank network.
| Detail | DIB's Terms |
|---|---|
| Free allowance | First Rs 25,000 per month per account, free |
| Charge beyond free allowance | 0.1% of the transaction amount or Rs 200, whichever is lower |
| Daily limit | Rs 500,000 per day per channel |
The Rs 500,000/day limit applies separately to IBFT and to Raast, and separately again per channel (Internet Banking vs. Mobile Banking) — so your total available transfer capacity in a day can be higher than 500,000 if you're using more than one channel or method, though DIB's terms note this can be adjusted through DIB Internet Banking on request.

RTGS (Real-Time Gross Settlement)
RTGS is for larger transfers settled directly through the State Bank of Pakistan's PRISM system, rather than 1LINK. DIB's own charges for RTGS are free on its end — but the SBP-side charge still applies, tiered by the time of day you submit the transfer.
| Submission Window (Mon–Fri) | SBP Charge (PKR) | DIBPL Charge |
|---|---|---|
| 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM | 200 | Free |
| 2:01 PM – 3:00 PM | 300 | Free |
| 3:01 PM – 4:30 PM | 500 | Free |

FOREE PAISA — DIB's Domestic Money Transfer Service
FOREE PAISA is DIB's own branded domestic money transfer service, listed on DIB's official site alongside Raast and IBFT rather than as a third-party product. DIB's public disclosures don't break out separate pricing or a step-by-step process for FOREE PAISA the way they do for Raast and IBFT, so we're not going to guess at charges or limits here — if you need this specifically, confirm current terms with a DIB branch or Phone Banking, since our own review of DIB's published Schedule of Charges didn't surface a dedicated FOREE PAISA line item.

Which One Should You Use?
| Your situation | Best option |
|---|---|
| Sending a small, everyday amount to someone's mobile-linked account | Raast (no separate DIB fee found; fastest, needs only their mobile number) |
| Sending to an account/IBAN, not a Raast-linked number | IBFT (free up to Rs 25,000/month, then 0.1% or Rs 200) |
| Sending a large amount that needs same-day, high-value settlement | RTGS (free at DIB, small SBP-side charge based on submission time) |
| Domestic transfer through DIB's own dedicated service | FOREE PAISA (confirm terms directly with DIB) |
Raast, IBFT & Transfers FAQs
What is DIB's Raast ID?
Your registered mobile number, linked to your DIB account through DIB's Internet Banking, Mobile Banking, or in person at a branch. It works as an alternative to sharing your IBAN or account number.
What is the daily limit for DIB IBFT and Raast transfers?
Rs 500,000 per day per channel for IBFT and Raast, maintained separately, per DIB's official Mobile & Internet Banking Terms and Conditions. This can be adjusted through DIB Internet Banking.
Does DIB charge for IBFT transfers?
The first Rs 25,000 transferred via IBFT per month per account is free. Beyond that, DIB charges 0.1% of the transaction amount or Rs 200, whichever is lower, per DIB's official Schedule of Charges.
Is Raast free at DIB?
DIB's Schedule of Charges does not list a separate Raast transfer fee, consistent with the State Bank of Pakistan's broader zero-charge policy for person-to-person Raast payments — but confirm current terms with DIB before relying on this.
What is FOREE PAISA?
DIB's own domestic money transfer service, listed under its official services alongside Raast and IBFT, for moving funds within Pakistan.
