Dubai Islamic Bank Priority Banking
Part of PakFinHub's DIB coverage — Wajaha and Aayan priority banking tiers.
- Wajaha Signature
- Aayan Exclusive
- Fee Waivers
Dubai Islamic Bank splits priority banking into two tiers: Wajaha (the higher, "Signature" tier) and Aayan ("Exclusive" banking, one step below Wajaha). Both waive a long list of everyday transaction fees that regular customers pay under DIB's General Banking schedule, in exchange for maintaining a monthly average balance and/or holding qualifying financing with the bank.
Wajaha Priority Banking
DIB positions Wajaha as its top banking tier, built around two customer categories: Signature and NRPP. Signature is the fuller tier, qualifying on deposit balance alone or on deposit plus qualifying Auto/Home/Personal Finance or Bancassurance (Banca Takaful) holdings. NRPP qualifies on a lower deposit threshold only — DIB's schedule doesn't extend NRPP eligibility through financing or Bancassurance holdings the way it does for Signature.
| Wajaha Requirement | Signature | NRPP |
|---|---|---|
| Deposit | 3M Checking / 6M Overall Monthly Average Balance | 1M Checking / 3M Overall Monthly Average Balance |
| Auto Finance | 2.5M & Above | – |
| Home Finance | 15M & Above | – |
| Personal Finance | 1M and Above | – |
| Banca Takaful Criteria | 1M and Above | – |
In practice, a customer qualifies for Wajaha Signature by meeting the deposit threshold on its own, or by meeting a lower deposit bar alongside qualifying Auto Finance, Home Finance, Personal Finance, or Bancassurance holdings at the levels above. NRPP qualifies on the deposit threshold alone.
What's clearly documented is the fee waiver itself. Signature customers get free cheque book issuance (including replacement for loss), free stop payment, free cheque-return handling, free DDs/MTs/TTs within DIB's network and against cash, free domestic Telex/SWIFT charges, free pay order issuance, free FDD-related services (cancellation, stop payment, duplicate, EPRC issuance), free standing instruction setup, and free statement of account, balance confirmation, profit and tax certificates, and zakat certificates — all services that carry real charges under DIB's standard General Banking schedule.
| Wajaha Signature — Waived Service | What a regular customer pays |
|---|---|
| Cheque book issuance / stop payment of cheque | Rs 25/leaf; up to Rs 600 per instruction |
| Pay order issuance | Rs 350 |
| DDs/MTs/TTs within bank network | 0.1%, min Rs 125, max Rs 5,000 |
| Telex/SWIFT charges – domestic | Rs 500 |
| Standing instruction charges (LCY) | Rs 250 per transaction |
| Statement of account on ad hoc basis | Free even for regular customers |
On cards and lockers, Wajaha Signature also waives SMS alert charges, primary debit card annual fee, ATM balance inquiry, ATM mini-statement, ATM cash withdrawal, and card replacement — plus the one-time security deposit and annual fee across small, medium, and large lockers.
Wajaha Airport Lounge Access
Signature Debit Cardholders get 8 free airport lounge visits a year (local and international). After the first free visit, the cardholder needs at least one international transaction of a minimum $1 to stay eligible for the remaining 7 visits; once all 8 are used in a calendar year, each further visit is charged $27. Guests accompanying a Signature cardholder are charged $27 per visit regardless. If a customer stops meeting Wajaha's required thresholds, DIB recovers all local and international lounge charges from them on an actual, monthly basis.
A monthly service fee of Rs 600 applies if the deposit, financing, or bancassurance thresholds aren't maintained. Wajaha customers also get a 50% waiver on processing and verification fees for Consumer Finance products, provided the qualifying customer category has been maintained for the last three months. Required deposit thresholds run on a Common/General Mudarabah Pool basis, and consumer finance thresholds cited in DIB's schedule are on an outstanding-balance basis. Separately, DIB charges its own staff (AVP grade and below) Rs 7,500 for a Signature Debit Card, per internal policy.

Aayan Exclusive Banking
Aayan sits a step below Wajaha and has cleanly documented thresholds. To qualify, a customer needs either PKR 250,000 in CASA deposits or a 1 million monthly average balance overall. Qualifying financing amounts are lower than Wajaha's too.
| Aayan Requirement | Threshold |
|---|---|
| Deposit | PKR 250,000 CASA or Rs 1M overall monthly average balance |
| Auto Finance | Rs 1.5M and above |
| Home Finance | Rs 5M and above |
| Personal Finance | Rs 100,000 and above |
Aayan customers get a free Aayan Visa Debit Card, free cheque book, free payorders, and a free statement of account on an ad hoc basis. The free cheque book, up to 5 free payorders a month, and the free statement of account specifically require maintaining CASA of PKR 250,000. A Rs 600 monthly service fee applies if thresholds aren't met, and Aayan customers get a 25% processing and verification fee waiver on Consumer Finance products (versus Wajaha's 50%) after three months of maintaining the qualifying category. As with Wajaha, deposit thresholds run on a current account/Common Mudarabah Pool basis, and financing thresholds are on an outstanding-balance basis.
Aayan Entity Segment (Business Deposits)
DIB's schedule also lists a two-tier Entity Segment under the Aayan banner, aimed at business/corporate CASA relationships rather than individuals.
| Service | Tier-1 (Rs 1M Checking MAB) | Tier-2 (Rs 10M Checking MAB) |
|---|---|---|
| Cheque Book | Free | Free |
| Payorders | Free | Free |
| Corporate Internet Banking | As per SOC | Free (installation, initial training & transaction view) |
| Same Day Clearing | As per SOC | Free |
