DIB Car Loan Calculator
Part of PakFinHub's DIB coverage — Islamic car financing structure and rates.
- Musharaka cum Ijarah
- Up to Rs 3M
- 15% Min. Down Payment
People searching "Dubai Islamic Bank car loan" are usually looking for what DIB calls Auto Finance — a Shari'a-compliant product structured under a Musharaka cum Ijarah model rather than a conventional interest-bearing loan. The bank and customer jointly own the vehicle, and the customer pays rental, not interest, on the bank's share until full ownership transfers. The mechanics work like this.
Dubai Islamic Bank Auto Finance at a Glance
- Structure
- Musharaka cum Ijarah
- Financing
- Up to 70%–85% of car value
- Financing Range
- Rs. 100,000 – 3,000,000
- Tenure
- 1 – 5 years
The minimum customer contribution (down payment) is 15% of the car's value. Both new and used vehicles are eligible, including imported/reconditioned cars — used cars up to 9 years old can still be financed. DIB also offers an "Advance Booking" plan (no monthly rentals due before delivery) alongside standard "Ready Delivery" financing, and supports income clubbing (combining a co-applicant's income) for eligibility.
| Applicant Type | Minimum Age at Application | Maximum Age at Maturity |
|---|---|---|
| Salaried | 21 years | 60 years |
| Self-Employed Professional (SEP) | 21 years | 65 years |
| Self-Employed Businessman (SEB) | 21 years | 65 years |
DIB's minimum monthly net income requirement is Rs. 25,000, with a minimum work tenure of 3 months for salaried applicants, 6 months for SEPs, and 12 months for SEBs.
Structure, financing limits, down payment, eligibility, and tenure confirmed directly from DIBPL's official Auto Finance product page (dibpak.com/index.php/consumer-finance/auto-finance/). Note: DIB's own FAQ section on that page separately states a "Rs 100K – Rs 5 million" financing range and a "7 years" maximum tenure, which conflicts with the figures in its main Financing Amount and Flexibility sections shown above — we've used the primary product-detail figures rather than the FAQ's, and flag the discrepancy here since it appears to be an inconsistency on DIB's own page rather than ours to resolve. Confirm the current figure directly with DIB before relying on it for a specific application.
How the Rental Rate Works
Because this is Ijarah (leasing), DIB doesn't charge "interest" — it charges rental for use of its ownership share in the vehicle. That rental rate is benchmarked to KIBOR and adjusts annually or semi-annually as KIBOR moves, rather than staying fixed for the full tenure. DIB's own official disclaimer on its financing calculators notes explicitly that any indicative monthly rental shown is illustrative only and subject to Credit Committee approval, and that the rent may vary with KIBOR movement.
KIBOR-linked rental adjustment confirmed from DIBPL's official Auto Finance page and official website disclaimer text.
Current Campaign: Jetour Auto Finance
DIB is running a co-branded promotional campaign for Jetour vehicles with fixed promotional rates by tenor, rather than the standard KIBOR-linked rental described above. As advertised by DIB, the campaign offers:
| Tenor | Promotional Rate |
|---|---|
| 1 year | 0% |
| 2 years | 6.99% |
| 3 years | 8.99% |

This is a limited-time, brand-specific offer rather than DIB's standard Auto Finance pricing — confirm current campaign terms, eligibility, and expiry directly with DIB before relying on these rates for a specific application.
Other Fixed-Rate Promotions (Not Currently Confirmed Active)
Jetour isn't the only fixed-rate promotion DIB has run against its standard KIBOR-linked Auto Finance — DIB has periodically offered brand-specific and general fixed-rate campaigns at different rates over time, including a partnership with Sazgar Engineering (fixed profit rate of 14.7%, reported October 2024) and standalone fixed-rate offers advertised on its own social channels at various points. We're not listing these as current, live rates here, since we can't confirm any of them are still running today — DIB's promotional rate changes often and isn't reliably archived. If a fixed rate matters more to you than the standard KIBOR-linked structure, check DIB's official Facebook/Instagram pages or ask a branch what's currently active before assuming last year's promotion still stands.

Auto Finance Calculator — New & Used Vehicle
DIB's own official calculators (on dibpak.com) separate New Vehicle and Used Vehicle finance tools, but both run on the same customer-share, bank-finance, and rental structure — DIB doesn't publish a different rate or down-payment rule for new versus used cars, only a maximum used-car age of 9 years. Use this calculator for either, and enter your own estimated rate:
This is an indicative calculation sheet only, in DIB's own words. DIBPL reserves the right to approve or reject any case subject to verification/approval from its Credit Committee. Monthly rent may vary subject to KIBOR benchmark movement, and Takaful rates will apply on top of this estimate.
This calculator uses a standard reducing-balance estimation formula, matching the conceptual inputs/outputs of DIB's own official calculator (customer share, bank finance, monthly rental) without copying its code. It excludes Takaful and processing charges. DIB's actual approved rental rate and financing decision depend on Credit Committee approval — this tool is for your own planning only, not a financing offer.
Customer Share vs Bank Finance
"Customer share" is DIB's term for your down payment — the portion of the vehicle you own outright from day one under the Musharaka structure. "Bank finance" is DIB's ownership share, which you pay rental on until it diminishes to zero. The minimum customer share is 15% of the vehicle's price, meaning DIB's maximum financing share is 85% — though DIB's Auto Finance page separately states financing "up to 70%" in its main financing-amount section, which is why we show a 70%–85% range in the facts above rather than a single figure; confirm your specific case's maximum with DIB.
Monthly Rental & Residual Amount
Your monthly rental is calculated on DIB's outstanding (bank) share of the vehicle, not the full price — which is why a larger down payment lowers your monthly payment more than proportionally. Because the rental rate is KIBOR-linked rather than fixed, DIB's calculator output is explicitly labelled indicative: the figure it shows you today can differ from what you're actually approved for once KIBOR moves or Credit Committee review is complete.
KIBOR & Takaful
Two variables sit outside this calculator and outside DIB's own indicative figures: KIBOR, the benchmark rate DIB's rental is pegged to (it resets periodically, so your rental can rise or fall over the tenure even after approval), and Takaful, DIB's Islamic insurance requirement on the financed vehicle, priced separately by the Takaful company and added on top of the rental shown here.
Calculator Limitations
This tool is a planning estimate, not DIB's actual calculator and not a financing offer. It doesn't include Takaful, tracker fees, or processing charges; it assumes a level reducing-balance rental rather than DIB's exact internal formula; and it can't reflect your specific risk profile or Credit Committee decision. Use DIB's own official calculator on dibpak.com, or apply directly, for a figure you can rely on.
Sharia Compliance
DIB's Auto Finance structure was formally reviewed and approved by Dr. Hussain Hamed Hassan, Sharia Advisor to Dubai Islamic Bank's Fatwa & Sharia Supervisory Board, in a letter dated 6 March 2007 addressed to the State Bank of Pakistan's Islamic Banking Department. The approval covers the Shirkat-ul-Milk (Musharaka) and Ijara-based structure and confirms compliance for the seven underlying contracts that make up the transaction: the Undertaking to Lease, Musharaka Agreement, Title Agency Agreement, Lease Agreement, Service Agency Agreement, Purchase Undertaking, and Sale Undertaking.

This letter is nearly two decades old; DIB's live Auto Finance page still names Musharaka cum Ijarah as the current structure, but for a current, product-specific fatwa document, confirm directly with DIB.
Documents You'll Need

- Latest salary slip or income proof
- Bank certificate, where applicable
- Processing fee, payable once the application is approved

Car Loan Calculator FAQs
Is Dubai Islamic Bank car financing interest-based?
No. DIB structures Auto Finance as Musharaka cum Ijarah — a joint-ownership lease model where the customer pays rental on the bank's share, not conventional interest.
What is the maximum Dubai Islamic Bank car financing amount?
Up to Rs. 3,000,000, covering 70% to 85% of the vehicle's value, per DIBPL's official Auto Finance page.
Is the DIB car loan calculator accurate?
DIB itself calls the output an indicative calculation sheet only, subject to Credit Committee approval, with monthly rent that may vary with KIBOR movement.
How do I calculate my DIB car instalment?
Enter the vehicle price, your down payment percentage (minimum 15%), an estimated annual rental rate, and tenure into DIB's calculator or ours to estimate customer share, bank finance amount, and monthly rental.
Does DIB finance new cars?
Yes, both new and used locally manufactured vehicles are eligible under the same Auto Finance structure.
Does DIB finance used cars?
Yes, used vehicles up to 9 years old are eligible, under the same customer-share and rental structure as new vehicles.
Why can my actual DIB car rental differ from the calculator estimate?
Because the rental rate is KIBOR-linked rather than fixed, Takaful is priced separately, and DIB's Credit Committee makes the final approval — all three can move the actual figure away from the indicative calculator output.
