DIB Cheque Book, Pay Order & Stop Payment

Part of PakFinHub's DIB coverage — how to actually order, request, and stop these, not just what they cost.

  • App-Based Ordering
  • Branch Option

Charges for these show up in DIB's Schedule of Charges across several of our other pages. This page is about the actual process — how you order, request, or cancel each one.

Ordering a Cheque Book

The DIB Mobile App has a dedicated "Order Cheque Books" option under its services menu, with a "View Request List" feature to track it. You can choose a book of 25, 50, or 100 leaves. Alternatively, submit a signed Cheque Book Request form at a branch — DIB's form requires you to acknowledge responsibility for safeguarding the cheques and to promise to report any loss immediately.

Creating a Pay Order or Demand Draft

The DIB Mobile App also has a "Create Pay Order/DD" option in the same services menu as cheque book ordering, letting you generate one without a branch visit. See our Account Opening page for pay order and DD issuance charges from DIB's Schedule of Charges.

Placing a Stop Payment

Per DIB's own Debit Card Terms and Conditions, the bank acts on written or verbal instructions to stop payment on a cheque. In practice, that means calling Phone Banking at 111-786-DIB (342) or visiting a branch, with the cheque number, date, payee, and exact amount ready — the more specific you are, the less risk of the wrong cheque getting flagged, or the right one slipping through before the stop is processed.

ChargeAmount
Stop payment of cheque / lost cheque bookRs 600 per instruction, or Rs 1,000 maximum

A stop payment only works if it reaches DIB before the cheque is presented for clearing — once it's already been paid out, there's nothing left to stop.

Institutional Cash & Cheque Collection

Separately, DIB offers a contracted Cash & Cheque Collection service aimed at schools, societies, foundations, institutes, and clubs collecting payments from many customers — delivered through designated Branchless Banking locations, with collections deposited into the beneficiary account. This is a business/institutional service, not something an individual account holder signs up for; charges are set per the specific contract, not a published fixed rate.
