DIB Card Activation & PIN Setup

Part of PakFinHub's DIB coverage — three ways to activate a new card, and how to set your PIN.

  • WhatsApp
  • App / Internet Banking
  • Phone Banking

A new DIB debit card doesn't activate itself. Here's each official way to turn it on and set a PIN, per DIB's own card pages.

Activate via WhatsApp Banking

  1. Scan the QR code on DIB's website, or message "Hi" to DIB's official WhatsApp Banking number
  2. Select "Debit Card Services," then "Activate Debit Card"
  3. Enter the last four digits of your card number and confirm your registered mobile number
  4. Enter the OTP sent to your phone
  5. You'll get a confirmation message once activation succeeds

Activate via DIB App or Internet Banking

Log into DIB Internet Banking or the DIB App, navigate to Card Activation/Deactivation, and complete OTP verification. The same interface also lets you toggle your card for international usage or online/e-commerce transactions independently — useful if you want the card active domestically but blocked from overseas or online use by default.

Activate and Set PIN via Phone Banking

Call 111-786-DIB (342) for PIN activation and generation specifically. A Phone Banking Officer verifies you through security and validation questions, then walks you through an Interactive Voice Response (IVR) menu to set your PIN — punching in digits as prompted rather than speaking to an agent throughout.

First Card vs. Replacement

DIB draws a real distinction here: your first-ever debit card requires a branch visit — fill out the account opening form and request the card in person. Replacing or converting an existing card, by contrast, can be handled by calling the 24/7 Call Centre without a branch visit. See our Lost or Stolen Card page if you're replacing a card because it's missing, not just upgrading.
