Part of PakFinHub's DIB coverage — ATM count, charges, and card issues.

  • 220+ DIB ATMs
  • 1Link Network Access

Dubai Islamic Bank ATM access runs on two layers: DIB's own proprietary machines, and the wider 1Link network shared across Pakistani banks. Below covers the network size, and what to do if your card gets stuck at one.

Withdrawing at Other Banks' ATMs

Because DIB's cards ride on the 1Link switch, DIB debit card holders can withdraw at any other 1Link-member bank's ATM across Pakistan, not just DIB-branded machines. That inter-bank withdrawal carries a standard 1Link charge that's smaller than an international withdrawal fee, and DIBPL's own ATMs are free for the same transactions.

International Cash Withdrawal and POS Transactions

UnionPay cardholders using DIB cards outside Pakistan — for ATM withdrawals or POS/internet purchases — pay a percentage-based charge rather than a flat fee, since it depends on the rupee-dollar exchange rate at the time of the transaction.

If Your Card Stops Working

  • Call the 24/7 Call Center at 111-786-DIB (342) to check if the card was blocked for a security reason
  • Confirm your card hasn't expired — DIB debit cards carry a standard multi-year validity printed on the card face
  • For replacement or conversion to a different card tier, request it at your relationship branch or through the Call Center
  • Activate a new or replacement card through DIB's official WhatsApp Banking channel

Dubai Islamic Bank ATM FAQs

How many Dubai Islamic Bank ATMs are there?

DIB operates 220+ of its own ATMs in Pakistan, plus access to the wider 1Link network shared across Pakistani banks.

Can I use my DIB card at another bank's ATM?

Yes, through the 1Link network. A cash withdrawal costs Rs 35 and a balance inquiry costs Rs 4.67 at another bank's ATM, versus free on DIBPL's own ATMs (which carry a separate Rs 600 ATM Access Fee).

A Worked Example: International Withdrawal Cost

Because DIB's international ATM and POS charge is percentage-based rather than flat, the actual rupee cost depends entirely on the transaction size and exchange rate at the time. Withdrawing the equivalent of USD 200 abroad, for instance, would carry a charge of roughly 4% of that amount (or the actual cost, whichever is higher) plus applicable taxes — meaning the fee itself scales with how much you withdraw, unlike the flat Rs 35 charged for a domestic 1Link withdrawal. For anyone traveling and planning to rely on a DIB UnionPay card abroad, this makes fewer, larger withdrawals generally cheaper in percentage terms than several small ones, since taxes and the "actual cost" floor apply per transaction regardless of size.

Why On-Network Access Isn't Really "Free"

DIBPL's own ATMs show as free for balance inquiries, withdrawals, and mini-statements — but that's separate from the flat Rs 600 ATM Access Fee charged on top, per the Schedule of Charges. In practice, this means the per-transaction cost at a DIBPL machine is genuinely zero, but the account itself isn't free to hold if that access fee applies to your card or account tier; it's worth confirming with DIB whether the Rs 600 charge applies once, annually, or under specific conditions for your particular account before assuming ATM access is entirely cost-free.
