DIB Johara, Senior Citizen & Muaawin Accounts
Part of PakFinHub's DIB coverage — three specialized accounts, not covered on our main Account Opening page.
- Women
- Seniors & Pensioners
- Persons with Disabilities
All three run on the same underlying structure as DIB's regular accounts (Mudarabah for saving, Qard for current), but each has its own eligibility rules, documents, and perks. See our main Account Opening page for DIB's general-purpose accounts.
Johara Account (Women)
Designed for women specifically — entrepreneurs, salaried or self-employed individuals, housewives, or students. Available as Current or Saving, in PKR, USD, GBP, Euro, and AED.
- Initial deposit: Rs 1,000
- Locker: 50% waiver on a small locker for the first year, subject to availability
- Joint accounts allowed only if both holders are female
- Power of Attorney (mandate) operation is not allowed on this account
- Zakat applies on the saving variant, per the Zakat & Ushr Ordinance

Senior Citizen Account (Widows & Pensioners Also Eligible)
Built around Mudarabah-based savings, offered in PKR only, aimed at seniors, retired pensioners, widows, and those living on remittances from children abroad.
- Age 60+ for senior citizens; no age limit for pensioners or widows
- Only one account per CNIC allowed, per branch
- Minimum investment of Rs 100,000 to access the account's higher-return tier
- Zakat applies, per the Zakat & Ushr Ordinance
DIB's monthly profit-rate sheets price Senior Citizen, Muaawin, Widows, and Pensioner accounts together under one dedicated tier, separate from standard Savings and Johara accounts — meaning this group generally gets its own weightage rather than the regular savings rate. We're not publishing the specific current rate here since it changes monthly; check DIB's latest published rate sheet or our Profit Rates page for how the mechanism works.

Muaawin Account (Persons with Disabilities)
DIB's account for differently-abled customers, available as Current or Saving, in PKR, USD, GBP, Euro, and AED — with the lowest opening deposit of any DIB account we've found.
- Minimum investment: Rs 100 only
- Requires at least one of: a Special CNIC from NADRA, a Disability Certificate from local government, a PWD society/club membership certificate, or a permanent disability declaration from a registered hospital
- Accessible banking features: Talking ATMs, Braille stationery, screen-reader-friendly app, sign language translators
- Discounted rates on financing products

Common to All Three
Johara, Senior Citizen, and Muaawin accounts are all covered under Section 7(3) of the Deposit Protection Corporation Act, 2016, per DIB's own disclosure on each product page — see our Corporate Info page for what deposit protection actually means in practice. Other account maintenance and transaction charges follow DIB's standard Schedule of Charges unless a specific waiver is noted above.
