DIB Ramadan Banking Hours

Part of PakFinHub's DIB coverage — a State Bank of Pakistan rule that applies to every bank, DIB included.

  • SBP-Mandated
  • Applies to Every Bank

This isn't a DIB-specific policy — it's the State Bank of Pakistan's annual Ramadan circular, which every commercial bank, DFI, and microfinance bank in the country is required to follow, DIB included. We're covering it here because it's confirmed and dated, not because DIB set these hours itself.

Ramadan 2026 Timings (as announced by SBP)

DayPublic Dealing Hours
Monday to Thursday9:00 AM – 2:00 PM, no break
Friday9:00 AM – 12:30 PM, no break

SBP designated the first day of Ramadan 2026 (which began February 19, 2026) as a bank holiday for public dealing specifically, to allow processing of the standard Zakat deduction on eligible savings accounts. These reduced hours applied throughout Ramadan and reverted automatically to DIB's normal schedule once Ramadan ended — see our Bank Timings page for the standard year-round hours.

What Stays Available 24/7

The shortened hours apply to branch public dealing only. DIB's ATMs, internet banking, mobile app, and Phone Banking (111-786-DIB, 342) all continue running normally throughout Ramadan — see our Digital Banking page and ATM Network page if a branch visit isn't strictly necessary.

Next Ramadan

SBP issues a fresh circular before each Ramadan — the exact hours above were specific to 2026 and shouldn't be assumed to repeat identically next year, even though the general pattern (shortened Monday–Thursday hours, shorter Friday hours, a Zakat-deduction holiday on day one) tends to recur. Check SBP's announcement or our Bank Timings page closer to the date for that year's confirmed hours.

Ramadan Banking Hours FAQs

Does DIB have special Ramadan banking hours?

Yes, but they're set by the State Bank of Pakistan for every bank, not chosen by DIB specifically. In Ramadan 2026, SBP set public dealing hours at 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM Monday to Thursday, and 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM on Fridays, with no break.

Is the first day of Ramadan a bank holiday in Pakistan?

Yes — SBP designated the first day of Ramadan 2026 as a bank holiday for public dealing, to allow for Zakat deduction processing.

Do DIB's ATMs and app work normally during Ramadan?

Yes. Ramadan hour reductions apply to branch public dealing only — ATMs, online banking, and mobile banking remain available 24/7 throughout the month.

When do banking hours go back to normal after Ramadan?

Automatically, once Ramadan ends — SBP's Ramadan timings revert to the standard schedule without a separate announcement needed.
